Mechanical designer - Industrial design

Job Description

The Mechanical designer will be responsible to shape the product architecture and integrate components in advanced 3D design phases. The incumbent will be a part of the Design team and will work in close collaboration with the Engineering and Product configuration teams to ensure the applicability of propositions.

• Undertake the design of the product architecture through 3D CAD for various development and prototyping projects.
• Participate in design and technical reviews.
• Research components.
• Collaborate to technical analyses.
• Work with the research and development teams.
• Assist in parts research.
• Prepare technical presentations.
• Perform other related tasks.   

Requirements 

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a mechanical designer
• Relevant experience in the manufacturing sector
• Experience in automotive mechanics (asset)
• College degree in mechanical engineering or similar sector
• Bilingual (French and English)
• Proficiency of a 3D CAD program (Catia V5, SolidWorks)
• Knowledge of the various techniques for the forming of materials (asset)
• MS Office suite
• Fabricated structures
