Job Description

Reporting to the Sales Director, the Sales Manager will be responsible for selling Lion's vehicles, sales strategies, developing and owning relationships with truck fleets, and influencing grant and government agencies in eastern Division. Travel required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage all sales and be a master salesperson;
  • Target potential customers, create sales strategy and exceed all sales projections;
  • Identify municipal and private fleets that are interested in deploying electric trucks, Class 6 – 8;
  • Develop relationships via cold-calling, referrals, introductions from industry stakeholders, trade shows, events, etc.;
  • Identify key person at target fleets and open discussion with them;
  • Coordinate product demonstrations;
  • Communicate benefits of all-electric propulsion technology over conventional; assisting fleets with securing public funding for projects where applicable;
  • Create and secure contracts for pilot projects and large deployments;
  • Collaborate with the staff and after sales team to oversee the production, delivery, and deployment of vehicles;
  • Any other related tasks.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge in industry business development
  • Proficient in MS Office, Microsoft Dynamics CRM or an equivalent.

Skills

  • Ability to evaluate opportunities, prioritize, and close sales;
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of the community including PTA boards, school boards, city councils, utilities, etc.;
  • Ability to close large & complex sales;
  • Ability to set sales objectives, forecast sales, and complete reporting;
  • Ability to make great presentations;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work and communicate with both functional staff and C-suite level staff;
  • Ability to work in an innovative context.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred);
  • 8-10 years experience in outside business to business sales;
  • Experience in transit bus market, electric vehicle or advanced clean transportation industry, ITS or related industries;
  • Experience selling to fleet managers, government, municipalities;
  • Experience in influencing and leading;
  • Experience un public speaking;
  • Experience managing a sales team, asset; 
  • Required to travel.

 

Salary Range: $70K-90K

 

The job is performed both indoors in a traditional office setting and outdoors traveling to and from customer accounts and sales offices. Activities include periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer or other device. Typing and applying pressure with the fingers and palm required. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken and written word.

Regular travel by airplane and automobile in conducting business is required. Ability to communicate orally with customers, management, and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.

Exposure to heavy duty equipment and vehicles as needed to present product.
