As part of your daily work, you would have to:

  • Design and oversee electric vehicle charging infrastructure that will include high voltage (208/240 or 480/277 or 600v) electrical equipment,
  • Work with subcontractors to complete work orders on time and on budget,
  • Estimate and price out installations and estimates of requirements for infrastructure deployments,
  • Work with management, account managers and sales staff to ensure that solutions are compatible with vehicle technology including:
    • Vehicle to grid (V2G) technology,
    • Smart grid technology,
    • Renewable energy integration (solar/wind/batteries),
    • AC to DC inversion,
    • Transformer and panel sizing.

What you need to succeed in this position:

Knowledge

  • Bilingualism in Eng/FR.

Skills

  • A strong commitment to sustainable mobility and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from transportation.

Studies and Experience

  • A degree from a recognized Canadian university in engineering or applied sciences, or a background as a licensed master electrician in Quebec, OR a background as a utility planner or designer:
    • Engineers may be an EIT or a P. Eng in good standing with the order of Québec Engineers
    • Licensed electricians must be in good standing with the corporation of master electricians
  • Educational experience in one or more of the following disciplines is highly desirable: environmental science, electrical engineering, urban planning, environmental studies or another similar field,
  • Work experience in one of the following sectors is highly desirable: electrical utilities, energy conservation, environmental science, renewable energy, urban planning or public transportation.
