Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Buyer is responsible for product procurement from suppliers and inventory management. They ensure the on-going availability of products and control inventories according to specific variables and issues.


As part of your daily work, you would have to:

  • Make purchase orders to maintain inventory levels.
  • Manage inventory levels, inventory age, obsolete and discontinued products.
  • Monitor and respond to market conditions according to company guidelines.
  • Analyze sales forecasts to plan demand.
  • Check price accuracy on purchase orders and invoices.
  • Work with Operations to receive goods.
  • Manage product returns to suppliers.
  • Keep the procurement software up to date.
  • All other related tasks.

What you need to succeed in this position:

Knowledge

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of an integrated management system (ERP) an asset
