As part of your daily work;

The Government Relations Director is responsible for guiding Lion Electric’s federal and state budget and policy advocacy. This individual leads a team focused on funding fleet transitions to all-electric, enacting public policy that accelerates zero-emission transportation and infrastructure, and removes ZEV barriers at the state and federal level.

 

  • Responsible for drafting policy priorities and implementation plan for The Lion Electric, Co.
  • Keeping the team up to date on all government related issues surrounding the electric vehicle industry.
  • Able to look ahead and forecast changes in federal, state, and local transportation and ZEV policy.
  • Ability to execute a game plan and strategies of the company.
  • Able to mentor and develop future leaders; coach up.
  • Must have advocacy experience at some level of government (Local, State, or Federal).
  • Ability to Influence Grants and Government Agencies.
  • Communicating benefits of all-electric propulsion technology over conventional; assisting fleets with securing public funding for projects where applicable.
  • Authoring and securing contracts for pilot projects and large deployments.
  • Working with our staff and after sales team to oversee the production, delivery, and deployment of vehicles.
  • Any other related tasks.

 

You have what it takes?

  • 10+ years experience in Government Relations or Policy Development & Implementation
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Experience with legislative process and lobbying practices
  • Experience in government affairs, procedures, policies
  • Knowledge and industry business development experience in trucking industry, electric vehicle or advanced clean transportation industry, ITS or related industries through B2B experience
  • Preferred P&L Proficiency
  • Preferred experience working with Grant and Funding Agencies
  • Documented-Proven track record with successful legislative implementation (legislation passed)
  • Experience drafting strategic government relations plans
  • Experience working with government, municipalities, B2B. (Influence Grants & Government Agencies)
  • Ability to leverage community-based organizations to meet legislative goals
  • Ability to travel
