As part of your daily work, you would have to: 

Lion Electric is currently seeking a Payroll Technician to join our team. The Payroll Technician will complete the full payroll cycle for the new Joliet, IL facility. 

What you’ll need to succeed: 

  • Manage US and Canadian payroll and benefits (approximately 500 employees). 

  • Work on continuous improvement projects for payroll and benefits, payroll procedures, proposing and implementing recommendations. 

  • Participate prepare the year-end process (T4s, relevés, RRSP, CNESST/WC). 

  • Help onboard and integrate new employees. 

  • Support assigned client groups with payroll and benefits issues. 

  • Apply and review Human Resources policies and procedures. 

  • Work on various human resources projects. 

  • All other related tasks. 

Knowledge: 

  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office Suite   

  • Knowledge of American labour standards an asset  

  • Expert using Nethris payroll system and Synerion time management system an asset

  • Communicates effectively Prioritizes well  

  • Organizes work efficiently to meet deadlines  

  • Diplomatic and discreet  

  • Strong interpersonal skills 

Aptitudes 

  • Professional with good judgement  

  • Detail-oriented, resourceful and creative  

  • Flexible and open 

Education/Experience 

  • College studies in accounting, human resources or other relevant field 

  • CPA member an asset  

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in complete American payroll cycle  

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or in US payroll (multi-state) an asset
