Under the responsibility of the Joliet GM and the Sr Director Master Planning, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Lion's production master program. You will also be responsible for meeting ongoing internal customer commitments to ensure optimal resource management to achieve business and service objectives, including on-time delivery and profitability. You will work closely with our Purchasing and Supply Chain department to ensure the supply of the necessary materials, in addition to collaborating to coordinate the work organization of external contract manufacturers and to integrate and test Lion's products to ensure that the delivery times of the products to our internal customers are met.

As part of your daily work, you would have to:

  • Responsible for the PFEP (Plan for every part).
  • Define, prepare and optimize production schedules, in conjunction with the Operations Management department, to ensure effective collaboration with the Quality, Engineering and Sales departments.
  • Accelerate activities that cause delays and modify schedules to accommodate unforeseen events.
  • Prepare an effective overall production schedule and stay on top of all important project milestones.
  • Propose and implement control mechanisms to effectively measure compliance with delivery deadlines and monitor process improvement according to the company's objectives.
  • Develop and maintain effective capacity planning management established according to the general production schedule and identify risks to delivery times and propose solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with the company's PMO to ensure effective scheduling and implementation of new product launch programs.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure optimal scheduling of supplier schedules and material receipt.
  • Maintain and ensure, through thorough ERP planning, optimal inventory management for planned contractual commitments and strategic materials investments.
  • Ensure the efficiency of all planned production activities by providing reports and advice on materials management and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain quality assurance of all activities.
  • Provide assistance to identify and resolve any issues that arise during normal operations and manage all communications during schedule disruptions.
  • Manage the ERP system and ensure that the life cycle and status of materials effectively reduce excessive investments in product inventory.
  • Conducts audits of material plans, prepares all necessary documents and provides required training to all subordinates.
  • Participate in all process engineering meetings.
  • Provide support to all process control activities and recommend improvements.
  • Provide support to material handling activities and recommend improvements.
  • Support the identification and analysis of risks and related risk mitigation plans.
  • Perform all related tasks.

What you need to succeed in this position:

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated industry experience in operational planning
  • Knowledge of Infor or other MRP/PRE software
  • In-depth knowledge of MS Project and Excel
  • In-depth knowledge of material handling and Lean practices and standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or other related field required
  • CHGPS Certificate (Inventory/Management) (Asset)
  • APICS Certificate (MRP) (asset)
  • Effective verbal and written communication and strong presentation skills (French and English)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team in a dynamic environment
  • ERP system expert;
  • MS Office Suite expert;
