Mechanical Drafter - Liaison & Manufacturing Support

Job Description

Role:

Under the supervision of the Manager - Manufacturing Support & Liaison, the incumbent will

work with the Mechanical Engineer. The incumbent will be responsible for the 3D design and drawing

of the various components entrusted to him/her. He/she will communicate regularly with

the mechanical engineer in charge, to ensure that the design is in line with the requirements of the

specifications. A good team player, he will collaborate with the various specialties and

departments to ensure quality deliverables within project deadlines. The

mechanical designer will be able to provide a detailed assessment of the various tasks

assigned to him/her.

Responsibilities:

§ Produce 3D drawings for various development and prototyping projects;

§ Update current drawings;

§ Participate in technical reviews and design concepts;

§ Research components;

§ Contribute to technical analyses;

§ Perform technical validation of incoming parts;

§ Support production, quality and service departments;

§ Answer technical questions;

§ Assist in the search for parts;

§ Communicate clearly and promptly situations that could compromise deliveries

to the manager and/or engineer in charge;

§ Contribute actively to the identification and development of improvement opportunities.

Training and experience:

§ DEC in mechanical engineering or equivalent;

§ Experience in a manufacturing field;

§ Experience in the transportation industry, an asset;

§ Experience in heavy vehicles, an asset;

Knowledge and skills:

§ Bilingualism (English/French);

§ Excellent knowledge of Solidworks and Catia software;

§ Have a sense of urgency and be proactive;

§ Organized;

§ Be solution-oriented;

§ Good communicator and team player;

§ Able to work in a multidisciplinary team;

§ Good analytical skills and attention to detail;

§ Self-reliance and resourcefulness;

§ Computer skills: Office suite;
