Job Description

The Manager vehicle configuration - scholl & transit articulates the strategy and technical definition of the product in line with the development plan and strategy for the platforms for which he will be responsible.

Responsabilities

  • Ensure integrity of all systems as well as the results of their combination;
  • Be responsible for the various systems’ harmony in order to maximise their efficiency;
  • Provide technical definitions and specifications of projects;
  • Ensure consistency throughout product portfolio, commercial offer’s technical response as well as planned and current projects’ development sequencing;
  • Guide research and development as well as engineering teams;
  • Actively support technical sectors while ensuring product durability;
  • Work in collaboration with Sales and Quotes departments;
  • Provide clear and adapted solutions to clients throughout the bidding and contract process. Support clients by offering best configuration of products;
  • Approve global configuration of offered products and ensure they comply with requested key characteristics and requirements;
  • Endorse requirement specifications of internal and external clients;
  • Prescribe passage of gates when required;
  • Provide feasibility assessment for improvement projects while ensuring key characteristics of requirements are understood when dispatching requests;
  • Ensure standardized technological choices and component selection across platforms in order to optimize manufacturing costs;
  • Monitor applicable laws and regulations’ evolution and align specifications accordingly.

Requirements

  • Technical knowledge of heavy vehicles;
  • Ability to work efficiently in English or French; 
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Ability to work under pressure in an innovative context; 
  • Thorough and meticulous;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in different situations;
  • High organization skills;
  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously;
  • Autonomous and proactive;
  • Document efficiently.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical) or the equivalent; 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry;
  • Experience in product architecture in the trucking or transportation industry.
